This is the Old School Shootout Series which is a team event offering anglers the opportunity to fish the “Old School Way’ where forward facing sonars and 360 imaging transducers of all kinds are not allowed. The allowed transducers will be traditional sonar, side imaging and down imaging transducers. This event is open to anyone and everyone and will offer a 90% payback just like all American Bass Trail Events with 1 in every 7 boats being paid along with the top placing team in the event that is registered advancing to the Bassmaster Team Championship and the top 5 teams advancing to the 2026 ABT Divisional Series Classic.

2025 Old School Shootout Schedule
Coming Soon: We will be hosting 10+ Events across the country in 2025 in 8+ different states. Once these dates and locations are finalized, we will update accordingly. If you would like to give your suggestion on certain lakes, you would like to see an Old School Shootout Event to be held on, please contact us and we will see if we can make that happen.
Old School Shootout Details
Team Event with up to two anglers per boat with one angler must being 18 years of age with all anglers participating in this event will have to have a 2025 ABT Membership. The Entry Fee per event will be $480.00 per team which will include the big fish option. Registration will open online at a later date (TBA) and boat number order will be assigned based on registration date. Each event will consist of a rules and registration meeting the night before the event with one angler be required to attend per team and late registration teams may sign up there with a late fee penalty ($25.00).
Old School Shootout Series “How we will manage Restricted Transducers”
Live Forward-facing sonars and 360 imaging transducers will not be allowed from the start time of the event until the conclusion of the event for each team. During practice days leading up to the event these transducers will be allowed for use by the anglers. During Official Check-In the morning of the event tournament officials will verify with each team as they are launching into the water that these transducers are unplugged from that back of their “Graph/Unit”. Anglers will be allowed to leave these transducers on their boat but MUST have these transducers unplugged for the entire event. ABT will have the full right to polygraph any angler fishing in this event and WILL be doing so at every event from anglers finishing in the top all the way through random selections down the field along with the use of multiple spotters and observers being out on the water.
